Ingram,

When I attempted to register at their web site they were asking for a product registration number. Since I have not registered Sax Basic, I did not have a registration number that I can use.

The knowledgebase and software library require registration. How are you able to log in? Has your company purchased and registered Sax BASIC?

This is the e-mail I sent to Sax and their response.

Pam Jongeward,

I'm not surprised that you could not find me under either my name or my company name. The speech recognition application that I'm using, ScanSoft's Dragon Naturally Speaking, uses SAX Basic. SAX Basic has been licensed by ScanSoft. I am using their software which uses your version of Basic to enable the end-user to create custom macros.

Based on what I said in the previous paragraph, will it be possible for me to register at your site?

Thanks
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Unfortunately the Support Section containing the Knowledge base is designed for the Developers incorporating our controls in to their applications. Do to the many variations that the control can be implemented, if you have question on how to use it, you should contact ScanSoft.

Best regards,

Mark Harris

Funny,I tried to log into Sax.net last night as well. I also got as far as the registration number.

I understand if they want to protect their proprietary information. DNS is fairly well documented, especially in the SDK.

In the other post, I said i'd communicated with Sax - I used their streaming chat to get an answer about counting lines...

Second, I get the same thing about registering a serial number; this must be a recent change, since they used to have their Knowledgebase open for you to look at.

If I've confused you I apologise... Sax has changed their site. Secondly, Sax is right in having us contact their client - SSFT - instead of them.
