I've had DNSP v. 10 for quite a while, but it's currently the US English[/u] version. However, I'm a Brit and Dragon often has a problem with my alien pronunciation! eg: colour, realise, marvellous, etc.

Can someone please tell me (in simple, not too technical terms) how I can change to UK English?

I have a v. 10 disk. If I have to reinstall, will I lose my vocabulary, have to re-train it and insert all of my previous writings and so on?

1. You will be able to preserve custom words that you have added. With your current user, go to Words, then Export and pick a file name to save any new words you have added. I'd suggest looking at this file to delete garbage words after it is saved.

2. Then you will have to create a new User. Go to NaturallySpeaking, then Manage Users. Select "New" and proceed using a different user name. Be certain to select UK English in the "Accent" choice.

3. Then add in the custom words saved in step 1. Using your new user, go to Words, then Import, then select the file you had saved.

At this point you will have two users. Keep both until satisfied with your new user.

Follow Larry's instructions carefully - but one thing to watch out for...

when you get to the stage where you 'create a new user' you must give the new user a different name (if it was me, instead of Ross, I would call it Ross1 for example)

ALSO, and very important.... when creating the new user there is an area where you can set the user's language or dialect - make sure you choose British or UK English rather than US English. That should solve your main problem.

You can then add back your custom words as explained above by Larry.

Ross.
