I hope someone can give me a little insight on this.
I recently installed DNS Preferred on a Dell Latitude 840C laptop. It is running WinXP Pro. The new training wizard gives me errors in when it test quality input. Trying the system gives me more errors then correct output. What I was able to determine is that Speech Recognition was not installed and for some reason my system did not recognize the microphone when it is plugged into the audio input. I installed Speech Recognition which gives me the ability to pick a microphone as an audio input device. When I test the system I can not tell if it is picking up a signal from the mic in the laptop or the headset. The volume is very high when I try the new training wizard and the sound quality fails with a 3 or 4 sound to noise ratio. I don't know what this means. Should I have installed Speach Recognition or should I try to remove it from Win XP? Is there something I need to know about how to select my head set mic and make certain that the laptop mic is off? Any help would be appreciated as I think my biggest problem is I can't get the audio to work correctly. I ordered a Andrea ANC -600 hoping that would help. Wayne z. |

Boy do I feel stupid. After two nights I find that the MIC was plugged in the wrong audio input.
This thing actually works! Not badly either. Wayne Z. |
