I have L & H version 4.0 and havr tried to install it on my computer, only to receive the error that there isn't enough memory available. There's over 5gb free space so the message isn't accurate. Any ideas on what I should do?

Hello Thunderchild,

L&H Version 4? Do you mean Dragon NaturallySpeaking 4.0 Preferred or Pro?

How much RAM does your computer have?
The error is in reference to MEMORY/RAM not hard drive space.

Tell me what operating system you are currently using and I will write back directions on how to check your system resources.

Thanks

I purchased this from PC World some 2-years ago. The CD label reads L&H voice xpress standard, version 4. At the bottom of the disc it reads 2vxs-uk400. There is no mention of dragon. My system is a K6 550mhz with just under 400mb of user ram. A 10gb hd with 5gb free. I'm running Windows ME. Although I've had the disc a while, this is the first opportunity I've had to use it. I haven't tried installing in safe mode. What do you think?
Many thanks for your help.

My info on Voice Xpress 4.0 reads system requirement as 64 MB RAM and 130 MB hard disk space, OS Windows® 98/95, Windows NT® 4.0 (I do not know if it intergrates with ME) … Sound right?? Have you received any other memory errors outside of trying to install Voice Express? “400mb of user ram” Right click on >My Computer>Click Properties>On the General TAB what numbers is listed before KB Ram What percentage of system resources is your system currently using? How to check: Right click on >My Computer>Click Properties> Click Performance or Advanced Tab

Thanks...

Krish

I am quite adept with computers, as my work life requires so. My system resources is usually around 75%. I can only imagine that the software isn't compatible with Windows ME, because I'm sure my computer is advanced enough to install it, if it were. Can you recommend an upgraded version which would suit?
Many thanks.

Thunderchild,

L&H voice xpress standard Version 5 information says it is compatible with ME. Not sure where you can buy the program upgrade.

Would rather see you using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 6.0. (more accurate)

Good Luck and thank you for using the forum,

Krish
