Dear All,
I am interested in learning the details of using DNS Pro 8 on multiple computers that are not networked together (i.e. office desktop, notebook and home desktop). After establishing a user on one computer (training, customizing vocab and creating macros), what is the best way to transfer this data to another standalone computer? Will the user export process include all of these items or will you need to perform general and additional training on the second computer to obtain the same accuracy as on the first machine? I am trying to avoid the need to have the user train on each computer that is being used for DNS. I look forward to your response. Thanks, Marc -------------------- Marc

Marc,
You can export your voice file and your commands, but probably the easiest way is to copy everything from the "users" directory on down: on a new machine simply spend a couple of minutes creating a voice file with the same name as your old one and then cancel out of the training. You then have a voice file that you can overwrite. This file should contain everything that you need or want. Personally, because each machine has different audio characteristics, I prefer to go through the relatively short training and then add commands and macros. Marty gets around this by using a USB pod which tends to ignore any audio differences between computers and change in environment.
