i have a dell inspiron 2200 laptop and am trying to install dragon. the headset that came with it is picking up no sound. could this be caused by my laptops sound card? i was given this laptop and do not know about the sound. please help.

Follow Marty's suggestion, but realize that the headset that comes with DNS only belongs in one place - the garbage! However, presuming that you have the headset plugged into the "mic in" connection on your soundcard rather than "line-in" connection you should at least get some response. If you want DNS to work for you and to be accurate a good microphone is necessary. Also, as I mentioned a previous post, the "duplexing" in the BIOS has to be set to "full" rather than "partial".

You did not give us any system specifications or version and the edition of DNS that you are using/trying to use.
