I read that the Logitech 900 MHz cordless mouse has 8 buttons which can be programmed to control certain computer functions. I never thought of using this feature with DNS, so I programmed my Microsoft Intellimouse's side button to bring up the corrections box which works beautifully. I couldn't, however, get it to mute or turn off the microphone within the DNS program.

Does anyone know if the Logitech or any other mouse is able to turn off or mute a microphone? Does it matter whether the microphone does or doesn't have a mute switch? I'm using a Sennheiser ME3 headset, DNS ver. 8.0 professional.

What you could do, is simulate a keystroke with the mouse's software to simulete your microphone on/off hotkey. I know the software for kensington devices (mouseworks) allows you to do this.

Thanks for straightening me out in terms of how to go about this, but it didn't work. It didn't dawn on me to have the mouse button programmed to control a keystroke rather than to control a program-specific setting.

The DNS default keyboard button assigned to toggle the microphone on and off is the "+" sign on the numeric keypad. The Microsoft Intellimouse wouldn't allow control over that button so I changed the keystroke command in DNS to something that the mouse could control and it still didn't work. There's some conflict going on.

Even though the Kensington mouse may allow control over a keystroke, do you know if it will actually work to control the toggle of the microphone in DNS (assuming I assign a valid keystroke to this function in the "Hot Key" tab in DNS)?
