Issue: I have Dragon NaturallySpeaking v8 Professional. Iím trying to dictate into Microsoft Word 2003. The Select-and-Say command-and-control features or functions are not working in Word. I am able to dictate but not select text.

Resolution: Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

1. On the Dragon Toolbar, in the "Tools > Options > Miscellaneous" tab, make sure the option "Use Active Accessibility for menu and dialog control", is checked.

2. In Microsoft Word XP, click on the "Help menu > About Microsoft Word > Disabled Items." If the following file is listed, dgnword.dll, select it and click the "Enable" button.

3. If you are still experiencing issues, try to run the Repair utility that is found on the Dragon NaturallySpeaking installation CD. Simply place the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. When the installation begins, the existing Dragon NaturallySpeaking installation will be detected and you will be prompted to either "Repair" or "Remove" the application. Select "Repair".
