Issue: I am a physician using Dragon NaturallySpeaking Medical v8. How can I create a shortcut for particular blocks of text that I find myself constantly dictating.

Resolution: With Dragon NaturallySpeaking v8 Professional Edition and higher, you can create shortcuts, aka macros, for text that you often dictate. Follow these steps to create shortcuts.

1. Dictate the text
2. Select or higlight the text you wish to make a shortcut.
3. Say "Make this a Shortcut" or "Make it a Shortcut"
4. The "Add New Command" window will appear with the selected text already in the content section.

5. Use the top line to name the shortcut .
6. Click the "Plain Text" box located on the bottom right of the screen. This will ensure that the font of the shortcut matches that of the rest of the document.
7. Say "Save" or "Click Save"
